Today’s victory for animals over the odds is celebrated. They never thought they’d be able overcome and outmuscle men. According to earlier reports, Jones, the previous farm owner, had been expelled from the farm when he forgot about feeding his animals. Jones and his neighbours plan to attack the farm in an attempt to regain control. Jones and his men were apparently inspired by rumours that the farm’s animals were bleating that “The only good person is a deceased one”.
Jones is reported to have expected to catch the animals off-guard, but the animals thought otherwise. Jones, the only one with a gun, was armed with sticks. The animals were ready to fight as soon as the men came near. The animals attacked once the men came within range. Although the men were able repel the geese or pigeons easily, this was apparently part the animals’ strategy to get the men to think the animals were easy. The animals launched another attack with Snowball, their leader, as well the sheepskins and goats. Again, the men proved too strong and the animals fled their yard. The men began celebrating their success, but they were unaware that the animals still had plans. The three horses, three cows and the rest pigs were forced into the yard by the men. The men were suddenly cut off. Snowball, the leader of the animals, charged at them from all directions, causing havoc. Snowball first took down Jones. Blind panic ensued as other men tried desperately for a way out. Human sources say that all of the men who were forced by defeat to accept it escaped. Only one man, a young stablelad, was killed accidentally by a Boxer horse. Snowball may have been reading an old Julius Caesar book, which documents Caesar’s past campaigns. This was undoubtedly a key factor in the animal’s triumph. Jones shot a single sheep and Animal Farm was the place to hold his funeral. Snowball made it clear that all of the animals were expected to die for Animal Farm should they be required. The battle was unofficially called “The Battle Of The Cowshed”, as it was here that the fight took place. Jones declined to comment, even though he tried to reach out to him.
